Pisa’s Internet Festival brings digital culture into public talks, practical workshops and interactive installations across the historic centre. You can listen to an author discuss ideas, try a digital game or join a lab rather than spend your visit in conference sessions. It is a public festival, not a trade-only technology conference.
Choose activities around what you want to do and the language you can follow. A hands-on session can anchor part of your Pisa trip, with a discussion or exhibition alongside it and room for a break between venues.

Internet Festival’s autumn programme is aimed at anyone curious about how digital technology shapes everyday life. You do not need to attend the whole festival: choose a session that interests you and build your visit around it.
The full programme usually appears about two weeks before opening. The official Internet Festival website publishes session listings on its “Programma” page. Use these individual listings to choose activities by subject, language and venue, rather than treating a headline theme as a description of every session.
Talks, T-Tours and installations
- Choose a talk for listening and discussion: recurring formats include keynote speeches, interviews, debates, book presentations and conversations with authors.
- Choose a T-Tour for active learning: workshops, labs and educational games invite you to experiment, create or tackle a practical challenge.
- Choose an interactive exhibition or installation for demonstrations and participation, which may involve physical models, digital games or multimedia experiences.
T-Tours are the festival’s educational strand, with activities for people of all ages. That does not mean every workshop suits every participant: choose the individual activity for its intended age group and educational context. For a family visit, the task matters as much as the topic, because a playful challenge and a structured seminar ask different things of a child.
Talk and T-Tour listings identify their delivery language in the “Lingua” (language) field, and T-Tour pages place it under “Info Evento” (event information). “Italiano” means Italian and “Inglese” means English. Choose a language you can follow, especially when a workshop depends on spoken instructions. A familiar subject alone will not make a discussion or practical exercise easy to follow.
Interactive installations can offer another way into a topic, but participation may still involve explanations or instructions. Their opening hours belong to each installation’s listing and can vary by venue and day. Fit one around your chosen session using its own opening window, rather than assuming that all exhibitions follow the same daily schedule.
Venues and getting between sessions
Internet Festival takes place across multiple venues in Pisa’s historic centre, within walking distance of one another. Use the venue named in each chosen session’s listing, not a single festival destination. Two activities on the same subject may take place in different buildings.
Centro Congressi Le Benedettine is a recurring festival venue for events and T-Tour educational activities. Its programme can bring together workshops, talks and exhibitions or installations, making it a useful place to look for complementary activities. Follow the session’s festival listing for attendance times rather than the building’s ordinary opening hours.
Once you have chosen your activities, leave a flexible gap between sessions at different venues. Walking is part of moving through the historic centre, but a session ending just as another begins gives you no room to leave the building, find the next entrance or pause for a drink. Keep space for a break rather than filling the day with consecutive sessions.
Reservations and costs
Reserving a place and buying admission are different actions. For a free activity, a reservation is a way to secure participation, not a charge. T-Tour sessions and teacher-training courses are among the activities whose listings may specify booking.
Follow the booking instructions on the individual event page reached through the official programme. No printed ticket is needed. For help with reservations, email prenotattour@internetfestival.it. For a show or concert, the listing identifies whether buying admission is part of attending.
Prioritise the session you most want to join, then keep an alternative activity in mind. An installation with a suitable opening window can give you another option if your first choice is full, without committing you to a second tightly timed session elsewhere.
