Brescia to Trento: Train, Coach or Car

A direct train is the simplest option between Brescia railway station and Trento railway station at Piazza Dante, especially with luggage or children. Coaches use separate stops and add walks at both ends, while driving gives you freedom over departure time but leaves parking and permitted access to arrange at the destination.

A direct train is the easiest choice with luggage or children, avoiding both the coach-stop walks and moving bags at Verona. For price, compare the offered coach departure and fare together. The direct Frecciarossa example also makes rail attractive for speed. A shared car spreads fuel costs and suits late travel independent of service times, but its arrival still needs a permitted parking place.

Trains and the Verona connection

From Brescia railway station, Trenitalia runs direct Regional and Frecciarossa trains to Trento railway station. One direct Frecciarossa example leaves at 08:53 and arrives at 10:27 during the timetable period from 14 June to 12 December 2026. It removes the need to change platforms and carry your luggage between trains.

Alternatively, take Trenord’s RE6 RegioExpress to Verona Porta Nuova, then a Trenitalia regional train to Trento. Select both trains as one journey so the connection, not just the first departure, fits your plans. You carry your own bags between services, so leave room for finding the onward platform rather than treating arrival at Verona as immediate departure.

The faster connecting services take about 34 minutes from Brescia to Verona and about an hour onwards, totalling about an hour and a half of train travel, excluding the interchange. The onward service here is Frecciarossa rather than regional. Choose both departures together and allow time to reach the onward platform. The RE6-plus-regional option has different journey times.

  • Trenitalia regional paper single tickets: validate at a station validator before boarding.
  • Regional Digital Tickets: validation is automatic at the selected train’s scheduled departure. Regional Electronic Tickets need no validation.
  • Trenord: validate tickets requiring it at the departure station, and use activated digital tickets according to their ticket-specific instructions.

If Trenord validators are absent or broken, notify staff promptly on boarding for onboard validation. Otherwise board with a valid ticket.

Trento’s station opens onto Piazza Dante, placing you at the central endpoint without a separate coach-stop walk. Trento station arrival and the city centre covers continuing from here into town.

Coach stops and the walk into the centre

Starting again at Brescia railway station, walk to the SAIA coach terminal for direct FlixBus or Itabus services to Lungadige San Nicolò in Trento. The access walk is about 1.1 km and takes about 15 minutes. Allow extra time with bags or children, rather than arriving at the station at coach departure time.

At Lungadige San Nicolò, you still have the final walk to Trento railway station at Piazza Dante: about 1000 metres and about 14 minutes. The coach arrival is not the railway-station arrival. Keep your bags manageable for this leg as well as the walk in Brescia.

Driving via the A4 and A22

Starting from Brescia railway station by car, head to Brescia Centro and take the A4 towards Verona, then the A22 north to Trento Sud. Continue towards the station area at Piazza Dante. The journey covers about 147 km. The drive takes about 2 hours before extra time for traffic, stops and finding parking.

Budget roughly €15–€25 for fuel per vehicle, depending on consumption and pump prices, with motorway tolls and parking additional. Sharing the car spreads fuel costs, while each public-transport traveller needs their own ticket. A larger or less efficient vehicle can shift that balance.

Choose a permitted final approach and a parking place before driving into the station area. Reaching Piazza Dante’s surroundings does not make the bus yards a drop-off point, so allow for the walk from your parking place.
