Five Coffee Shops in Old Town Scottsdale

A coffee break in Old Town Scottsdale can be a straight espresso at Fourtillfour Café, a roaster’s cortado at Cartel Roasting Co. or something sweeter at Yellow Spruce Roasters. Berdena’s and Sip Coffee & Beer House also make sense when you want a bite alongside your drink. Choose one stop to suit your appetite and the part of Old Town you are exploring, rather than turning your break into a café circuit.

Old Town extends from Chaparral Road in the north to Earll Drive in the south, and from 68th Street in the west to Miller Road in the east. These stops sit within its walkable districts.

Drink size, accompaniments, tax and any gratuity affect your total. A pastry adds to the drink-only budgets. For an ordinary walk-in break, expect to order at the counter and find a seat, allowing time if tables are busy. Choose indoor seating in hot weather rather than relying on patio shade.

Fourtillfour Café

Fourtillfour Café brings together espresso, coffee roasted beside the café and vintage-car culture. Its monthly Cars & Coffee gatherings give that identity a concrete expression, with enthusiasts meeting around classic cars and coffee. You can stop for the coffee without making your visit depend on a gathering.

Order an espresso if you want a short, coffee-focused pause, or add a pastry when you want something to eat with it. The shady outdoor patio gives you a reason to sit down rather than take your cup away, though shade alone does not make a hot day comfortable.

Fourtillfour opens daily, 7am–2pm, so it suits a morning outing or an early coffee break. Put it before your afternoon exploring rather than leaving it for the end of the day.

Cartel Roasting Co.

Cartel Roasting Co. on Fifth Avenue is a coffee-focused stop serving coffee it roasts itself. Choose a cortado for a pause centred on the roaster’s coffee while you are exploring this part of Old Town.

A house-made Pop-Tart is the distinctive optional accompaniment to look for. It turns the pause into coffee with a sweet bite, but you can keep the visit centred on the cortado if you are not hungry. That roaster-led identity is the reason to stop here, rather than treating coffee as an addition to a full meal.

The branch opens daily, 7am–6pm. Its afternoon service makes it a useful pause while exploring Fifth Avenue, with time to sit over a coffee before continuing through Old Town.

Berdena’s

Berdena’s makes sense when you want a flavoured latte with the option of a small bite. The Cardamom Rose Latte is the drink to look for, while the changing seasonal speciality-drink offering gives this Fifth Avenue café a different emphasis from a simple espresso stop.

Avocado toast is the accompaniment to choose if your coffee break falls between breakfast and a later lunch. It lets you add food according to appetite without turning the visit into a full lunch. If you only want a drink, keep the order to the latte and leave room for a meal later in Old Town.

Sip Coffee & Beer House

Sip Coffee & Beer House combines coffee with craft beer, but cold brew is the order for a daytime coffee pause. You can stop for coffee here even when you have no plans to stay for a beer.

Add the bacon or sausage breakfast sandwich if you want a savoury bite alongside it. The sandwich makes this a useful stop when hunger, rather than a craving for something sweet, is what extends your coffee break.

The shaded patio offers an outdoor seating option at this Goldwater Boulevard café. Use it when the weather makes sitting outside appealing, rather than treating shade as a substitute for cooling down.

Sip’s Old Town location opens daily, so the choice of day does not depend on a weekly closing day.

Yellow Spruce Roasters

Yellow Spruce Roasters is the stop for an affogato, a coffee break that doubles as dessert. This Old Town café’s combination of coffee and gelato makes the sweet order a natural reason to stop. Enjoy it at the café rather than choosing it for a coffee to carry while you explore Brown Avenue.

The coffee comes from Yellow Spruce’s own roastery in North Scottsdale. At the Brown Avenue branch, you can choose the affogato when you want both coffee and something sweet, rather than adding a separate pastry to your drink.

Coffee service runs Sunday–Thursday, 5:30am–7pm, and Friday–Saturday, 5:30am–9pm. That gives you an early coffee option as well as a later sweet break, with the longer end-of-week window leaving room for coffee after an evening meal.
