Romantic Restaurants in Scottsdale for Two

A romantic dinner in Scottsdale can mean a courtyard tasting menu, an intimate Italian meal or steaks beside a rooftop pool. Café Monarch is the strongest choice here for a formal special occasion, while Virtù Honest Craft suits couples who want a smaller-scale Italian dinner. The House Brasserie puts the dining room first, Élephante puts shareable dishes first, and Dominick’s Steakhouse pairs a celebratory steak dinner with poolside seating.

Choose Café Monarch for a formal courtyard set-menu dinner. Virtù Honest Craft suits an intimate Italian evening, and The House Brasserie suits couples drawn to a historic-house dining room. Choose Élephante at Fashion Square for whipped aubergine and vodka pasta, or Dominick’s at Scottsdale Quarter for a poolside steak dinner.

These rounded estimates cover a full food-only dinner: a starter, main course and dessert, or the set menu where applicable. Shared dishes are split between two people. Drinks, tax and gratuity are extra, and wine can substantially increase the bill.

Reserve a table for two and request your preferred seating area at the same time. Mention an anniversary or other occasion if relevant, but treat a courtyard, patio or poolside table as a request rather than a guarantee. In hot weather, choose an indoor table if comfort matters more than outdoor seating.

Café Monarch

Café Monarch’s courtyard makes the setting part of dinner, and its seasonal set menu gives the evening a clear progression. Choose it when you want the meal itself to be the occasion, rather than a quick dinner before another activity.

The four-course prix fixe menu includes USDA Prime filet mignon, beef tenderloin, as a main-course option. An eight-course tasting menu offers a longer sequence. À la carte ordering is available only at the bar, so a dining-table reservation means committing to a set-menu dinner.

Virtù Honest Craft

Virtù Honest Craft centres dinner on chef-owner Gio Osso’s cooking, with an intimate setting and a changing menu. Start with polpo, charred octopus, then build the rest of your meal around the dishes that appeal to you that evening. The octopus is a reason to choose the restaurant, not a substitute for a complete dinner.

You can order à la carte or choose the five-course prix fixe dinner. The latter requires everyone at the table to participate, so agree on the set menu together before choosing it. For a couple, à la carte offers more freedom if one of you wants fewer courses or different dishes.

Indoor, bar and patio seating give you different ways to spend the evening. The patio suits a candlelit dinner outside, while a table indoors keeps the emphasis on the meal without committing you to outdoor conditions. Bar seating is an alternative if you prefer to sit side by side.

Dinner runs from 5pm–10pm on its service days. An early reservation works well if you want dinner to precede another evening activity, while the prix fixe deserves an evening without a hurried departure.

The House Brasserie

The House Brasserie’s Victorian-inspired dining room is the reason to choose an indoor dinner here. The house dates from 1939, and the ornate interior makes the room part of the occasion. For a couple who wants a distinctive setting without making a long tasting menu the centre of the evening, this is a good fit.

Order Chilean sea bass for a dinner that shows the kitchen’s French influence. It comes with toasted farro, spring onions and piquillo peppers, plus a celery-root and roasted-grape velouté, a smooth sauce. The grain and vegetables make this a composed main course rather than fish that needs separately chosen accompaniments.

Build the meal around that main, adding a starter and dessert according to your appetite. The combination of fish, grains and sauce gives you a clear starting point for ordering, and leaves room to choose the other courses together.

Patio seating offers an alternative, but request the indoor room if its design is what draws you here. Dinner begins at 5pm on service days, making the restaurant suitable for an early evening meal as well as an occasion devoted to dinner.

Élephante

Élephante makes a coastal Italian dinner for two easy to build around a shared starter and individual main courses. Begin with whipped aubergine, listed on the menu as Whipped Eggplant, with puccia, an Italian bread, and olive oil. It gives you something to share while deciding what follows.

For a main course, choose the vodka-sauce pasta. Canestri, basket-shaped pasta, comes with Calabrian chilli, basil and Parmesan. The chilli adds heat to the sauce, so this is the order for a couple drawn to a richer pasta dish rather than a plain tomato preparation.

Treat the aubergine as the beginning of dinner, not the whole meal: order a main each and leave room for dessert if you want the full evening. Extra shared dishes suit larger appetites, but are not necessary simply because you began by sharing.

Dinner service starts at 3pm, useful if you want an unusually early meal. Closing is 11pm Sunday–Thursday and midnight Friday–Saturday, allowing a later dinner after an afternoon at Fashion Square.

Dominick’s Steakhouse

Dominick’s Steakhouse offers dinner tables beside a rooftop pool, giving a steak dinner a setting beyond the usual dining room. Choose it for a celebration where the poolside table is part of what you want from the evening, and make that seating preference clear when reserving.

The bone-in ribeye is the order to build dinner around. Ribeye is typically a well-marbled cut, making it a good choice if you prefer richness to the leaner character of fillet. Tell your server how you want it cooked, then consider the rest of the meal alongside it.

Steak accompaniments are ordered separately, so choose sides rather than assuming vegetables or potatoes come with the meat. For two people, shared sides let you add variety without ordering every accompaniment twice. Add a starter and dessert to make a complete celebratory dinner, or keep those courses lighter if the steaks are your priority.

Dinner service is 5pm–9pm Sunday–Thursday and 5pm–10pm Friday–Saturday. Give the meal room in your evening, particularly if you want several courses, rather than arriving near the end of service and expecting an unhurried dinner.
